Hubbard Holds Unofficial 99-Vote Lead Over Foxx

Democrat Chuck Hubbard leads Republican incumbent Virginia Foxx by 99 votes in North Carolina’s 5th Congressional District, a margin of about 0.04%, leaving the race too close to call. The reported counts remain unofficial pending canvassing, and the narrow margin could prompt a recount; state procedures provide for a machine recount and, if requested, a possible hand recount. The outcome could still change as election officials complete verification and recount steps.
