Hundreds Attend Tuscaloosa Grocery Store Opening

Piggly Wiggly held a formal grand opening for its Five Points store in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, with a ribbon-cutting, product samples, giveaways and promotions from more than two dozen local and regional vendors. The store, operated by B&W Foods, occupies a former Winn-Dixie location and is the company’s sixth Piggly Wiggly in Tuscaloosa County. It features full-service bakery, deli and floral departments, a specialty meat counter, and a pharmacy relocating into the building. Co-owner Jay Welborn said the store is intended to serve as a neighborhood grocery and support connections between local businesses and customers.
