HUTCHMED Begins Global Phase Ia HMPL-A830 Trial

HUTCHMED has begun the Phase Ia portion of a global first-in-human trial of HMPL-A830, with the first patient dosed in China on September 24, 2026. The experimental antibody-targeted therapy conjugate links a KRAS inhibitor to an EGFR antibody, aiming to deliver treatment to EGFR-expressing tumors while blocking both KRAS and EGFR signaling. The early-stage study will assess safety, tolerability, drug behavior, immune response and preliminary antitumor activity in people with unresectable, advanced or metastatic solid tumors, before planned dose expansion and optimization. The approach is intended to address treatment needs in KRAS-altered cancers, including colorectal, pancreatic and lung cancers; a GSK subsidiary is expected to lead later-stage development and commercialization outside Greater China under a licensing agreement.
