Ice Cream Shop Defends Teen Workers, Goes Viral
The owners of Coldstuff Ice Cream in Blackstone, Massachusetts, spoke out after a customer yelled at a teenage employee over a 25-cent pricing mistake. Co-owner Dave Forgit’s blunt social media post reminded customers that the shop’s young workers are often in their first jobs and urged people to address mistakes politely, telling abusive customers they were not welcome back. The post went viral, drawing widespread support for the employees and bringing new customers to the recently opened shop. Co-owner Kevin Miller said the verbal abuse young workers faced was shocking, and the owners emphasized that protecting their staff mattered more than the attention or business boost.
