IDF Opens 850 Military Polling Stations Amid High Alert
Israel held Knesset voting across the military through hundreds of polling stations, including mobile ballot boxes serving troops deployed near and beyond the country’s borders. At the same time, the IDF raised its alert level ahead of Election Day, froze leave and reinforced fronts amid fears of attacks and escalation. Security measures included restricting Palestinian entry into parts of the West Bank, while Israeli forces maintained closures and conducted operations around Hebron after an attack that wounded five people and killed two assailants. Officials said the heightened posture was intended to thwart threats while allowing the election to proceed.
