Illinois Colleges Plan Statewide Food Drive

Illinois community colleges will hold the third annual Feed the Need food drive from Oct. 19 through Nov. 30, collecting nonperishable food for campus food banks and local pantries. Organized by the Illinois Community College Board, the statewide competition invites students, employees and community members to donate, with a commemorative plaque going to the campus that collects the most. The drive aims to help address food insecurity among students and families; participating colleges donated more than 180,000 items in 2025, and Elgin Community College collected the most.
