Illinois Routs UIC 101-66 in Exhibition

Illinois closed its exhibition schedule with a 101-66 win over UIC, showing an efficient offense that recorded 28 assists and shot 54.4% from the field. The performance offered limited evidence about the Illini defense, however, because UIC’s offense did not force many rotations or communication. Freshman guard Ethan Brown has emerged as a potential X-factor, starting in the exhibitions while Preseason All-American David Mirkovic recovers from foot surgery; Brown’s shooting and feel for the offense could earn him a continued role.
