Illumina Selected for Singapore’s 450,000-Person Genome Study
Illumina has been selected to provide whole-genome sequencing for Singapore’s SG-INSIGHT study, part of Phase III of the National Precision Medicine programme. The study is expected to include about 450,000 people—nearly one in 10 Singapore residents—and will connect genomic information with real-world health data to improve understanding of disease and treatment responses. Expanding research beyond healthy volunteers to people with a broad range of medical conditions, the project aims to build evidence for responsible genetic screening and more personalized, preventive care in the public health system. Illumina will conduct sequencing and genomic analysis at its Singapore facility, which will comply with local regulations and seek required accreditation.
