Imperial Brands Continues £1.45bn Share Buyback
Imperial Brands completed its £1.45 billion share-repurchase programme in October 2026, buying back about 50.2 million shares for cancellation and reducing its outstanding share count to roughly 758.1 million. The company has since announced a new capital-return plan of up to £1.5 billion in buybacks by late October 2027, beginning with a tranche of up to £750 million, alongside an evergreen buyback programme running through 2030 and its progressive dividend policy. Imperial said leverage remains at the lower end of its target range, supporting its decision to return surplus capital to shareholders.
