Indiana Expects RB Martin Back Midseason After Injury

Indiana running back Khobie Martin is expected to miss time until around midseason after suffering an arm injury, reportedly a fractured forearm, in the first quarter of the Hoosiers’ 52-16 season-opening win over North Texas. Martin played but did not record a carry and had been projected to take on a larger role after rushing for about 505 yards and six touchdowns last season. Boston College transfer Turbo Richard and Lee Beebe Jr. are expected to handle more of the backfield workload while Martin is sidelined, with a potential return for the Oct. 17 game against Ohio State. Starting cornerbacks A.J. Harris and Jamari Sharpe also left the opener but are considered day to day rather than facing long-term absences.
