Indiana and North Carolina Meet in Exhibition Basketball Game

Indiana and North Carolina meet Sunday at 5 p.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis for an exhibition game, offering both teams another preseason test ahead of the 2026-27 season. Indiana opened exhibition play with a 96-68 win over Butler, pulling away with a 33-4 second-half run; the Hoosiers will look to see whether their size and rebounding hold up against a more athletic opponent. North Carolina, led by first-year coach Michael Malone, also won its first exhibition, beating USC 88-70 behind 25 points and 10 rebounds from senior forward Jarin Stevenson. The game gives Malone, a longtime NBA coach, and Indiana coach Darian DeVries an opportunity to assess their rosters and lineups before the regular season.
