Infant dies, four injured in Great Falls stabbing

Great Falls police say five people, including an infant, were critically injured in a stabbing at a home late Friday, Oct. 2, and a man was arrested while trying to leave the scene. The infant later died, and authorities upgraded the suspect’s charges to homicide; the investigation is ongoing. A student was also hospitalized after being stabbed across the street from Great Falls High following a homecoming football game, in a separate incident handled by school officials and police. Police said the incidents stretched response capabilities, prompting an emergency-only response for the remainder of that night.
