Iowa Gubernatorial Candidates Campaign Across State
With Election Day approaching, Iowa gubernatorial candidates Rob Sand and Republican Zach Lahn made campaign stops in the Quad Cities as they sought to reach voters. Sand and running mate Dave Muhlbauer urged supporters to turn out voters and called for a change in direction after nearly a decade of Republican control, pitching political balance as a way to address cancer rates, economic growth, farm costs and public education. Sand also said he would veto further restrictions on abortion and other reproductive health services, while acknowledging he could not undo existing restrictions without legislative support; Lahn supports Iowa’s current abortion restrictions. Sand held additional get-out-the-vote events across the state, with a final rally scheduled for Davenport.
