Minnesota Sets Record for Early Voting in Non-Presidential Election
Minnesota set a record for early voting in a non-presidential general election, with 886,427 absentee and mail ballots accepted by Monday morning. Nearly 620,000 were cast in person and about 267,000 were returned by mail; officials urged voters with outstanding ballots to meet delivery deadlines or vote at their polling place on Election Day. The high turnout came as candidates made final appeals, with Republican Senate candidate Michele Tafoya criticizing Democratic Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan’s record and Flanagan highlighting Tafoya’s endorsements from President Donald Trump.
