Iowa Plans Hank Brown Start Against Wisconsin
Iowa plans to start Hank Brown at quarterback against Wisconsin after he replaced Jeremy Hecklinski in the Hawkeyes’ 13-10 loss to Minnesota. Coach Kirk Ferentz said the decision is provisional and the team will assess how the game develops, leaving open the possibility of bringing Hecklinski back in. Both quarterbacks struggled against Minnesota: Hecklinski threw for 62 yards and an interception, while Brown had 136 passing yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Ferentz said neither the quarterbacks nor the team played well enough, while emphasizing that both young players remain in consideration.
