Iowa Postal Worker Charged After Shooting Injures Three

Authorities say postal worker Jennifer Christine Pledger, 39, opened fire on coworkers at the U.S. Postal Service’s main facility in Des Moines, wounding two women and injuring a male employee who fell while trying to escape. Pledger was arrested nearby minutes later and faces two counts of attempted murder and other charges; she is being held without bond. Investigators are examining whether one victim was specifically targeted, but have not established a motive; the postal workers’ union said the shooting occurred during an employee meeting.
