Iowa shuts out Wisconsin 30-0, secures bowl eligibility
Iowa bounced back from its loss to Minnesota with a 30-0 home win over Wisconsin, securing bowl eligibility and reclaiming the Heartland Trophy. Quarterback Hank Brown completed 20 of 24 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns, while Tony Diaz and DJ Vonnahme helped spark the offense; Vonnahme scored once receiving and once rushing, a feat last achieved by an Iowa tight end in 2018. The Hawkeyes’ defense shut out the Badgers, including stopping them on fourth-and-goal at the 1-yard line, while Wisconsin committed three turnovers. Coach Kirk Ferentz praised the team’s response and all-around execution, while noting the Hawkeyes would review the game and keep working to improve.
