IQE posts 43% revenue growth but still reports a net loss

IQE reported a sharp improvement in first-half 2026 performance, with revenue rising 43% year over year to about £64.6 million and adjusted EBITDA turning positive at £6 million, although the company still recorded a statutory net loss. Growth was driven by strong demand for photonics and wireless components used in AI infrastructure, data centers and defense programs, helping offset earlier weakness in electronics and tariff-related disruption. The company said momentum continued into the second half, reaffirmed its forecast for more than 30% full-year revenue growth and adjusted EBITDA in the low-teens millions of pounds, and plans to expand indium phosphide manufacturing capacity. IQE also highlighted supply constraints for indium phosphide substrates and plans to seek a move from London’s Alternative Investment Market to the Main Market, targeted for the first half of 2027.
