IRS Extends Storm Victims’ Tax Deadlines Across States
Tax deadlines and disaster-related extensions vary across jurisdictions. Australian taxpayers preparing their own returns have until November 2 to file, with possible failure-to-lodge penalties for late returns, while Cyprus multinational and large domestic groups must submit specified global-minimum-tax forms and pay any supplementary tax by November 30. In the United States, taxpayers affected by a severe storm in Nebraska’s Knox County have until January 7, 2027, to meet many postponed filing and payment deadlines. Hurricane Isaias victims in designated Alabama and Florida counties have until February 4 and February 8, 2027, respectively, for covered federal tax obligations. Michigan taxpayers in 37 storm-affected counties have until November 2 to file and pay covered federal taxes, including certain 2025 returns and estimated payments.
