Israel arrests eight suspects over West Bank attacks on journalist and diplomats
Israeli authorities arrested eight suspects in a joint police, Shin Bet, Border Police and military operation dubbed “Olive Leaf,” investigating weekend settler attacks in the West Bank; several vehicles were seized, and the suspects were taken for questioning as the operation continued. The violence included an assault that injured Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine while she covered Palestinian olive harvesters, as well as an attack on European diplomats and other visitors near Taybeh. The arrests followed international condemnation, and authorities also reported enforcement actions related to illegal construction, military orders and an intrusion into a Palestinian home.
