Italy's Foreign Minister Reports Dark-Web Data Leak
Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani said cybercriminals had circulated his personal data on the dark web for several days, exposing him and his family to threats and seeking additional information about them. He did not disclose what information was leaked or identify those responsible, and said the activity appeared to be continuing. Tajani vowed not to be intimidated and said Italy would strengthen cybersecurity measures and cooperation with allies. He linked the attack to Italy’s support for Ukraine and its efforts to protect the Foreign Ministry from cyberattacks, though reports did not independently establish the perpetrators or their motives.
