IU, Butler to Play Two-Game Exhibition Series
Indiana and Butler will play a home-and-home exhibition series, starting October 11 at Hinkle Fieldhouse for IU’s first visit there in more than 30 years. Butler hosts first before IU returns to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for the 2027-28 season. The schedule also includes games against North Carolina and Western Kentucky as part of IU’s October exhibition slate. The rivalry is long-standing, with Indiana holding a 40-15 edge, and the teams last met in the Crossroads Classic in 2020. Butler is led by new head coach Ronald Nored, who takes over after a notable playing career and previous coaching roles. The series traces back to their first meeting in 1901, highlighting the evolving dynamics of both programs.
