Jaclyn Smith Explains Absence From Farrah Fawcett Funeral

Jaclyn Smith is sharing memories of her Charlie’s Angels co-star Farrah Fawcett in her memoir, including why she missed Fawcett’s 2009 funeral. Smith had traveled from Houston to Los Angeles for the service but immediately returned after learning that her seriously ill mother had taken a turn for the worse; her mother later died that year. Smith also recalled a final dinner with Fawcett, whose cancer had spread to her liver, saying Fawcett maintained her humor and resilience despite her declining health. In a letter Fawcett gave Smith near the end of her life, she wrote that fear had become unavoidable, though Smith said her friend continued to face the illness with hope, courage and humor.
