JBSA Contractor Arrested on Classified-Document, Firearms Charges
Air Force contractor Zachry Wade Carroll, 47, of San Antonio, was arrested on federal charges tied to an alleged loss of classified national-defense information and firearms at Joint Base San Antonio-Kelly Annex. Prosecutors allege he lost the document in April 2025 and failed to report it, then carried a loaded .380-caliber handgun while working in a secure facility in November 2025. Investigators also allegedly found a loaded AR-15 and a loaded 9mm handgun in his vehicle on the base, and say he denied carrying the .380 when asked. Carroll is charged with losing national-defense information, two counts of possessing a firearm in a federal facility and making false statements; he faces up to 17 years in prison if convicted.
