JCB International and Hanoi Metro have signed an agreement to introduce JCB contactless fare payments on Hanoi’s urban railway, with service expected to launch in early 2027. JCB cardholders will be able to tap contactless cards or compatible devices at metro gates, avoiding separate tickets or cash. The companies say the service is intended to make travel easier for international visitors, especially those from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and other markets, while supporting wider adoption of cashless public transport in Vietnam.
