John Cena says he feels like oddball for choosing not to have kids
John Cena said on Trevor Noah’s podcast that he has no plans to have children, arguing that being considered a potentially good father is not a sufficient reason to take on parenthood. He said the time and independence he and his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh, have maintained have helped shape his life and their relationship; the couple discussed their views on children early in their relationship and married in 2020. Cena acknowledged that choosing not to have children can make him feel like an “oddball” because it differs from what many people expect, but said he is at peace with his decision. His child-free choice has not kept him from supporting children: one report said he has granted hundreds of wishes to children with critical illnesses.
