John Deere Plans Over 400 Hires as Recalls Near 1,000 Total

John Deere plans to hire more than 400 workers across its factories and recall more than 300 employees in the coming months, including over 275 in Waterloo, Iowa, and about 60 at its East Moline, Illinois, facility. The callbacks will bring the company’s total to approximately 1,000 since 2024, and all previously laid-off workers in Waterloo, the Quad Cities, Ottumwa and Dubuque have been asked to return. About 125 employees in the Des Moines area remain on layoff. Hiring is also planned at facilities in Moline, Milan, Davenport, Dubuque, Ottumwa and Coffeyville; Deere says the added workforce will help meet customer needs.
