Josh Pierson Signs With Foyt for 2027 IndyCar
AJ Foyt Racing has signed Oregon driver Josh Pierson to a multiyear deal to drive its No. 4 Chevrolet in the 2027 NTT IndyCar Series, alongside teammate Dennis Hauger. The 20-year-old will move up after 3½ seasons in Indy NXT, where he led the most laps in 2026, earned two poles and won at Laguna Seca. Pierson became the youngest driver to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans at age 16 and has also recorded wins and podiums in international sports-car series. After IndyCar’s licensing standards required an evaluation, Pierson completed a test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course and was approved for the series. Team president Larry Foyt praised Pierson’s experience, maturity and work ethic; a new sponsor for the No. 4 car is expected to be announced later.
