Jury Convicts Man in $769,500 Tiffany Robbery

A jury found Jaythan Lawrence Gilder guilty of robbery and grand theft for stealing nearly $770,000 in earrings from a Tiffany & Co. store at Orlando’s Mall at Millenia in February 2025. Prosecutors said he posed as a representative for a professional basketball player, then grabbed the jewelry and used force against an employee while fleeing. After Florida Highway Patrol troopers stopped him, Gilder swallowed the earrings in an attempt to hide them; investigators later recovered all four and confirmed they belonged to Tiffany. Sentencing information has not yet been announced.
