Kearney Catholic Wins First State Softball Title

Kearney Catholic beat Bishop Neumann 3-0 to win the Class C softball state championship, the first state title in program history. Freshman pitcher Perri Tidwell threw a three-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts, escaping a bases-loaded threat in the seventh inning to secure the win. Jersey DeVall drove in two runs as the Stars built their lead, and the team finished the season 26-3. Kearney Catholic outscored opponents 31-4 during the state tournament.
