Kentucky Farm Visits Double Ahead of Breeders’ Cup
Central Kentucky’s Thoroughbred farms are drawing increased attention around the Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland, with horse-farm tourism reportedly doubling since the event was last held there in 2022. Visitors are touring farms such as Lane’s End to see celebrated horses and learn about the industry, while organizers say the visits help connect fans with racing even if they do not directly benefit farms financially. Ashford Stud, the Kentucky branch of Ireland-based Coolmore, underscores the industry’s international reach; its roster has included Triple Crown winners American Pharoah and Justify, and American Pharoah is spending another breeding season in Japan before returning to Kentucky in 2027. Keeneland is also offering shoppers an early opportunity to buy Breeders’ Cup merchandise, with a complimentary event glass offered with purchases.
