Kentucky Gov. Beshear Hints at 2028 Presidential Run

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is promoting his new book, “Go and Do Likewise,” which draws on his Christian faith to argue that values such as helping one’s neighbors can counter political division. He criticized what he sees as the use of faith to harm people and described President Donald Trump’s politics as fostering an “us versus them” mentality. At a Washington book event, Beshear said he is no longer sure his 2023 reelection campaign was his last, adding that he does not want to leave a “broken country” to future generations. His remarks renewed speculation about a 2028 presidential bid, but he has made no formal announcement and says he will first focus on his work as Democratic Governors Association chair and on the 2026 elections before discussing his future with his family.
