Kentucky Judge Suspended 30 Days Without Pay
Kentucky’s Judicial Conduct Commission suspended Louisville Family Court Judge Lauren Adams Ogden without pay for 30 days, from Nov. 8 through Dec. 8, after reviewing complaints and finding misconduct across multiple cases. The commission cited due-process violations, bias and failures to follow legal requirements, including restricting or changing parenting arrangements without adequate notice or findings, limiting parties’ ability to present evidence, and not promptly implementing an appellate ruling. It also criticized courtroom behavior, including sarcastic or dismissive interactions and eating or texting during proceedings. Ogden accepted responsibility and agreed to the order; she must complete an approved course on proper hearing conduct and, during the suspension, cannot perform judicial duties or use court resources.
