Kim Jong Un visits China via new bridge
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un arrived in China’s border city of Dandong on Saturday, crossing the newly opened New Yalu River Bridge from North Korea, according to South Korean officials and news reports. The visit is his first trip to China in about a year, but neither government has announced its purpose or itinerary. A meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and discussions on economic cooperation are possible, though unconfirmed. The trip comes ahead of the APEC summit in Shenzhen as President Donald Trump seeks to restart talks with Pyongyang.
