Kinder Morgan reports record $14.4B project backlog
Kinder Morgan reported record third-quarter 2026 results and said its project backlog reached $14.4 billion, including a record $13.2 billion in natural-gas projects; more than 75% of the backlog is tied to power generation and local gas distribution. The company added $5.4 billion in expansion projects, highlighted by the Southeast Connector, designed to carry up to 2.6 billion cubic feet of gas per day to southeastern markets, and Permian Link, designed to transport about 2.8 billion cubic feet per day to support power generation for a large technology customer. The projects have long-term transportation contracts and are targeted to begin operations in 2030, subject to approvals where required. Kinder Morgan said adjusted earnings per share rose 21% from a year earlier and raised its full-year outlook, while its board approved a quarterly dividend of 29.75 cents per share, up 2% from a year earlier.
