Kings’ 0-5 Start Puts NBA Record in Reach
The Sacramento Kings fell to 0-5 after a 132-120 loss to New Orleans, with 25 turnovers and defensive struggles helping the Pelicans pull away. Rookie Darius Acuff Jr. was a bright spot, scoring 34 points and dishing out 14 assists, though he also had six turnovers and has shot inefficiently through his first five games. Analyst Kevin O’Connor warned that Sacramento could challenge the record for the worst start to a season: the Kings face a difficult schedule and may be underdogs in their next 14 games, putting a 0-19 start within reach. He has also projected the team could finish with 16 wins or fewer, while injuries and poor performance at both ends of the court add to concerns about the season ahead.
