Kodiak signs first interstate deal to equip 75 trucks with driverless system
Kodiak AI has signed a binding agreement to equip 75 DTL Transport trucks with its autonomous-driving system, with deployments expected to begin in 2028. DTL will own and operate the trucks and pay Kodiak per mile under a Driver-as-a-Service model, a first publicly announced deal of its kind for an interstate carrier. DTL plans to use the trucks on routes including Dallas–El Paso and Dallas–Atlanta, following a California pilot that autonomously hauled produce 225 miles; Kodiak also plans a separate driverless freight service for IKEA between Dallas and Houston.
