Kongsberg plans $51 million counter-drone plant in Poland
Norwegian defense company Kongsberg plans to invest more than 200 million zloty (about $51 million) in a factory in Poland’s Pomeranian region to manufacture and maintain counter-drone systems for the Polish military’s SAN program. The project is being carried out with state-owned defense group PGZ under a broader contract worth about 15 billion zloty, covering 18 anti-drone batteries and associated units and vehicles. Kongsberg says the facility will serve Poland and could support future exports to other European customers, positioning the country as a regional production hub. Construction is expected to begin after a contract is signed by the end of 2026, with serial production targeted for the first half of 2028; the plant is expected to employ more than 100 people at full capacity.
