Kosovo Parliament Approves Kurti’s Fourth Government

Kosovo’s Parliament has approved a new government led by Albin Kurti, formally ending a prolonged period of institutional deadlock. Kurti was nominated by the Vetëvendosje Movement after the Assembly was constituted and was subsequently reappointed prime minister, with 62 of the 70 lawmakers present voting in favor. The vote followed snap elections in which Vetëvendosje won the largest share but fell short of an outright majority, requiring extended negotiations to form a government. Opposition parties including the PDK, Alliance and LDK declined to support or participate in the vote, while Serb List lawmakers attended the session. Kurti’s government now faces challenges including strengthening political stability and advancing Kosovo’s European integration efforts.
