Lac Knife Project Included in Canada Investment Summit Deal Book
Focus Graphite will participate in the Canada Investment Summit in Toronto on September 14–15, hosted by Prime Minister Mark Carney with CPP Investments and PSP Investments, and its wholly owned Lac Knife Graphite Project has been included in the summit’s investment deal book. The event is part of Canada’s goal of catalyzing C$1 trillion in investment over five years, with critical minerals among the priority sectors. Located near Fermont, Quebec, Lac Knife’s feasibility study outlines 9.31 million tonnes of probable reserves grading 14.97% graphitic carbon, supporting an estimated 27-year mine life and annual production of about 50,000 tonnes of graphite concentrate. The study projects C$2.76 billion in life-of-mine revenue, a C$284.8 million after-tax net present value and a 22.6% after-tax internal rate of return. Focus said the study predates Canada’s 30% Clean Technology Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit, which could potentially reduce the project’s estimated C$236.9 million initial capital requirement, although the company has not incorporated that potential benefit into updated economics.
