LaFleur Rejects Changes After Cardinals' Fourth Straight Loss
After the Arizona Cardinals’ fourth consecutive loss, a 45-21 defeat to the Detroit Lions that dropped them to 1-4, coach Mike LaFleur said he would not immediately change play-calling duties or coaching roles. Arizona has allowed at least 30 points in four straight games, and LaFleur acknowledged problems on both sides of the ball while saying the team must review what is working and improve its consistency. He said he believes the defense has the personnel to play better and that he is responsible for helping the team find answers. While LaFleur signaled that changes to personnel or scheme could be considered, commentators in several reports argued that defensive coordinator Nick Rallis should be replaced, with one suggesting assistant Teryl Austin as a possible interim successor.
