Lamont, Fazio Face Off in Connecticut Governor Vote
Connecticut voters are choosing between Democratic Gov. Ned Lamont, seeking a third term, and Republican state Sen. Ryan Fazio, with affordability central to the campaign. Lamont points to his record, including income-tax cuts, efforts to address high electricity costs and plans to expand affordable housing; Fazio promises a $2,000 family tax cut, lower electricity charges and more than $1 billion in state spending cuts. Recent polling cited by WFSB showed Lamont leading among registered voters, though Fazio said he believed he could pull off an upset. In their final campaign push, Lamont emphasized progress during his administration while Fazio argued that rising costs have made it harder for residents to get by.
