Lancaster Man Charged After Allegedly Charging Judge
Fletcher Morton, 57, is accused of flipping a courtroom table and charging toward Lancaster County Magisterial District Judge Andrew LeFever during an Oct. 21 preliminary hearing in a domestic-violence case. Prosecutors say Morton had repeatedly shouted over a police officer’s testimony and lunged after the judge ordered him removed; a state constable restrained him, and no one was injured. Morton faces charges including aggravated assault, retaliation against a judicial official, and disorderly conduct, and a different judge will handle the cases because LeFever is considered a victim. The underlying case includes allegations that Morton burned a woman’s lip with a cigar, struck her, threatened to kill her, and strangled her. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
