League Chapters Hold, Plan Public Forums

Local Leagues of Women Voters are encouraging civic participation through voter education, public discussion and candidate forums. In Iowa City, Johnson County members gathered to discuss election issues, share information and help one another understand their ballots. The Chattanooga chapter announced a public forum on data centers, including their regional impacts and the regulatory and zoning decisions involved. In Texas, the Amarillo League scheduled a nonpartisan candidate forum and offered voter guides in English and Spanish, while Michigan’s Marquette County League recently held a forum for Ishpeming mayoral and city council candidates. The Buffalo-area League also announced a program called “Voting Is Your Superpower.”
