Lee Appoints Lim South Korea Chief of Staff
President Lee Jae Myung appointed National Tax Service Commissioner Lim Kwang-hyun as his new chief of staff, replacing Kang Hoon-sik, who offered to resign after a series of failed Cabinet nominations. Lim has served in the National Assembly and government, including as the first National Tax Service commissioner under Lee. The presidential office cited his administrative experience and political judgment, expressing confidence he would help restore livelihoods, advance social reforms and improve coordination among the government, ruling party and presidential office.
