Charleston festival and libraries set November author talks and events
Charleston Literary Festival’s lineup includes ballerina and author Misty Copeland discussing her middle-grade fantasy novel “Firebird Waltz,” with many tickets reserved for local students, and architecture critic Paul Goldberger’s “The Imperfect City,” a celebration of urban life’s mix of planning and unpredictability. In Montgomery County, November programming offers author talks, writing sessions, a local-author showcase, book sales and book clubs. Separately, commentary on GQ’s survey of the book industry says its discussion of topics such as AI, BookTok, reading habits and sales would benefit from more perspectives from literary agents, major publishers and book podcasters. The commentary also argues that uncertainty about publishing’s future is longstanding, despite continued concern over how books are sold and discovered.
