Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah told Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad that his government is willing to address Cairo’s concerns over Mediterranean maritime boundaries and economic waters through dialogue and coordination. The outreach comes after Libya’s eastern-based parliament ratified a 2019 maritime agreement between Libya and Turkey, which Egypt has rejected as having no legal effect for Cairo. Egypt says it will protect its maritime rights under international law, while Dbeibah emphasized safeguarding the legitimate interests of both countries.
