Life-Size Siskel-Ebert Statue Planned for Chicago

Chicago plans to install a life-size bronze statue of film critics Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert at the One Two Pru complex near Millennium Park in early 2028. Designed by sculptor Preston Jackson, the six-foot-five tribute will show the pair with their theater seats and let visitors sit beside them for photos. The project is being funded through corporate and public donations led by Chicago Gateway Green, along with a Hollywood memorabilia auction; organizers say they are seeking $230,000. The statue honors the critics’ long Chicago careers and their influence on moviegoers through their nationally syndicated reviews.
