Golden Retriever Welcomes Alleged San Diego Burglar
Dante Rowley and Stephanie Calderon watched from an airplane via their Ring cameras as 57-year-old John Paul Cline allegedly entered their San Diego home through a second-story window. Cline reportedly removed his shirt and shoes, ate food and appeared to nap while the couple coordinated with police remotely. Their four-year-old golden retriever, Nash, repeatedly approached him with toys instead of confronting him and later greeted responding officers similarly. Police used a drone, and officers arrested Cline on suspicion of first-degree burglary as he allegedly tried to escape through a bathroom window; he also faces allegations in unrelated cases. Another dog escaped through a dog door, no one was hurt, and reported damage was limited to broken pots and consumed food. Video of the incident later went viral online.
