Arizona holds animal walk, Guernsey postpones charity event
The Arizona Animal Welfare League held its 28th annual Walk to Save Animals at Tempe Beach Park on Halloween, combining costumed 2K and 5K walks, trick-or-treat stations and contests despite rainy weather. The fundraiser supports the league’s rescue and community programs, including adoptions and low-cost veterinary care. Separately, Guernsey Mind invited dogs and owners to a roughly 3-kilometer charity walk at L’Ancresse, highlighting how pets can support mental health through companionship and exercise. The Guernsey event was postponed because of strong-wind forecasts and offered timed group slots as well as a remote option for dogs uncomfortable in crowds.
